5 Themes of Geography

Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography help better understand connections between people,  so other people know how people live in certain areas and weather, and how they use other people and the environment to get food and other resources. The five themes also help better understand connections to the earth because the themes are used to see how people and the earth are benefiting from their natural resources, I know this because that is what comes out of the definitions for each theme.  To me the themes aren’t difficult, but knowing how to analyze the world with them is a bit hard for me. I feel like when I try to explain how they can be used to analyze the world i get it wrong but, I am getting better with it and with more practicing and studying I would understand.

    Lizzy, In your post I totally agree that the 5 themes are used to see how people the earth are benefiting from their natural resources. This is important information because it explains how people and the environment interact and help benefit each other. I wish I understood why you included areas and weather, I thought you included that information in other sentences that had a bigger main idea. Overall I was able to relate to your post because we had similar information.

    Lizzy, you did a great job explaining how the themes are used to analyze the world, it was great and helpful how you gave specific examples. I loved how you explained why, and gave an explanation for your statement. You gave clear information and I understand exactly what you mean.

    I think you made it very clear to understand too. You have very good explained reasons why and what happened. But the whole thing you wrote was very neat and good.

I found coordinates, compass rose, and finding the continents easy.   I found these easy because I really understood them quickly, and the activities really helped as well. I struggled with the scale the most. I struggled with this because I feel the directions/instructions didn’t really make sense. The activities also didn’t help. The basic map skills are necessary because if we were lost in the wood and all we had was a map, and a compass, the only way you would not be lost any more is if you know how to use them and understand them. They help understand geography because without a map you wouldn’t know where to go and where the continents are or if there is other land on the world. I think it is important to know about standard of living so we know what it’s like in a place and we can try to help them. And so we are aware about what other people are going through not just us. Standard of living can be analyzed using five themes because to see if people’s basic needs are being met you can use location.
