5 Themes of Geography

Analyzing the world with the five themes of geography help better understand connections between people,  so other people know how people live in certain areas and weather, and how they use other people and the environment to get food and other resources. The five themes also help better understand connections to the earth because the themes are used to see how people and the earth are benefiting from their natural resources, I know this because that is what comes out of the definitions for each theme.   To me the themes aren’t difficult, but knowing how to analyze the world with them is a bit hard for me. I feel like when I try to explain how they can be used to analyze the world i get it wrong but, I am getting better with it and with more practicing and studying I would understand.

Map skills reflection

I found coordinates, compass rose, and finding the continents easy.   I found these easy because I really understood them quickly, and the activities really helped as well. I struggled with the scale the most. I struggled with this because I feel the directions/instructions didn’t really make sense. The activities also didn’t help. The basic map skills are necessary because if we were lost in the wood and all we had was a map, and a compass, the only way you would not be lost any more is if you know how to use them and understand them. They help understand geography because without a map you wouldn’t know where to go and where the continents are or if there is other land on the world. It also helps because all of these skills are what geography is.
